4th week

We were very tired because we did a lot of activities on the last week. On this week we have to make our portfolio, journal and another assignment. But on the first day of this week we did nothing but sleep. Because we didn’t had much time for sleep. None of us did their portfolio or journal on the first day.
On February 14, we attend the JS Prom because the students invite us to come to their JS Prom. On the JS prom, we saw our students dancing. I didn’t dancing at the JS prom because I don’t have a couple to dance with haha. We enjoyed  the party because they served us the masquerade. They wear their best dress at that night and also us.
On the next day we had cooking demonstration. On cooking demonstration, we have to cook our country’s food. And after that they will taste the food that we made. Filipinos actually they didn’t like the food that we served because our food was very spicy and they didn’t like it. But some of them still eat our food just because they were curious with our food.
After the cooking demonstration we had the farewell party at the hall behind our hostel. On the farewell party we have to presenting the Filipinos dance. We used the traditional dress from Philippines for performing the dance. We only had 2 time of practicing that dance, and that’s why we were a little bit didn’t remember the moves that we have to do. But the TAU President and the other attendance still enjoying our dance. And after that I did a speech about the impression representing all of the practice teachers here. I’m very nervous because they didn’t tell me about I have to give a speech at the farewell party. It was an amazing experience for me.
At the end of the farewell party we were all sad because we have to say goodbye to each other. They were crying because they have to leave all of the people that we met here.
I really loves this country because the people was very humble and kind to me and to my another friend. And students were very kind to me, very hard for me to leave them here but at the same time I feel happy because soon I will meet with my family and my friends in Indonesia. It was such an amazing experience for me that won’t be happened twice in my life.

2nd week

On Monday at 7:15 we attended the flag ceremony. After the flag ceremony was finished, I went to the 10 Agriculture class and I met Sydney and the other students there. This morning they had a “Jingle Presentation”. In this kind of presentation they have to present their lesson using jingle. In Indonesia, we have this kind of teaching method also, but we don’t use this method because the “Jingle Presentation” isn’t effective for Indonesian students. 10 Agriculture had five groups, each group has seven or eight students. They used a different jingle but with the same subject. This class was so noisy and talkative.             The second class that i attended this morning was a different kind with the first classroom. They were so creative when presenting their jingle, more creative than the first classroom. This class was so competitive between one to another students. They weren’t noisy, but I prefer the first classroom (10 Agriculture) because I like those kinds of students

History of TAU

The Tarlac College of Agriculture was established in 1944 as Camiling Boys/Girls High School. It started with 368 students, 13 faculty members and a school principal. But it stopped operation in December 1944 and resumed after the Liberation as Tarlac High School, Camiling Branch. The reopening of the school was a response to the clamor of parents whose children stopped schooling during the war years and the difficulty of traveling from Camiling to Tarlac. On July 6, 1945 Municipal Resolution No. 34 created the Camiling Vocational Agriculture School (CVAS) replacing Tarlac High School, Camiling Branch. That it focused on vocational agriculture was considered a means to hasten the economic recovery of the town from the ravages of the war. CVAS had 534 students and 13 faculty. From 1945 to 1948, the school offered two curricula – the general academic to enable the former students to graduate and the agriculture curriculum for the first year and second year. On September 26, 1946, the
